Applications for Digital Production Challenge II are in full swing.
This year, DPC II will run between March 29th — April 1st, as an online workshop. Every DPC II edition owes its success to a core team of dedicated professionals working from all over, from ARRI to NETFLIX, with experience in all kinds of worldwide projects.
On this year's edition, the online workshop will also be joined by new expert speakers and case studies — the first of which have just been confirmed.
First, DPC II will present cinematographer Rauno Ronkainen ("Frozen Land", "The Eternal Road") and colourist Pentti Keskimäki ("Faust", "Rare Exports"), who will give us a detailed account of how they achieved the visual mood of their last collaboration, "Helene". The film tells a compelling story of renowned Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck. The case study will explore how to understand the content, subtext and visual world of the story throughout the process of making the film. "Helene" won the Silver Frog at the Camerimage Festival.
DPC II's second 2021 case study is not focused on one specific film's path, but rather on the digital sector and VOD world — featuring Wendy Bernfeld, the founder and managing director of consultancy/digital agency Rights Stuff. Wendy will present an up to the moment overview of the current landscape of film digital distribution, looking ahead at what the post-COVID distribution landscape will be.
Applications close February 12 for applicants with project, and February 28 for those without.
