Dörte Schneider, Eddy Joseph & more will be at FEST '21 for exclusive masterclasses

FEST's 2021 Industry Program welcomes film consultant Dörte Schneider and veteran sound editor Eddy Joseph to its growing roster of professional speakers. Dörte will present an exclusive masterclass dedicated to sustainability in the film industry, while Eddy will once again share his expertise on sound editing and post-production.

Dörte Schneider has been working as an assistant director in the Portuguese film industry for 20 years, working in productions such as Saint George (2016), and holding a passion about the environment all throughout her career.

Joining her is sound editing legend Eddy Joseph, without a doubt one of the most successful Sound Editors of our time. He has collaborated with directing luminaries such as Alan Parker, Bernardo Bertolucci, Louis Malle, Jean-Jacques Annaud, Neil Jordan and Anthony Minghella, amassing a truly enviable list of collaborations, which include Pink Floyd The Wall (1982), Angel Heart (1986), Batman (1989), Casino Royale (2006), and so many more.

Additionally, similar to the previously announced Virtual Production Day, FEST is also cooking up a day full of masterclasses dedicated to the theme "Acting and the Director - Actor Relationship", led by the Emmy-nominated casting director Nancy Bishop and acting manager Caprice Crawford - with even more professional guest speakers to be announced in the coming weeks.

Nancy Bishop is an American casting director, most recently known for the uproarious Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. She has cast over one hundred projects throughout her 20-year career, including Mission Impossible IV (2011), Snowpiercer (2013), and the upcoming Amazon's epic fantasy series Wheel of Time.

Also present for another masterclass is Caprice Crawford, founder and CEO of Crawford Talents, a full-service International Actors Management Agency. Caprice has landed professional acting roles alongside industry craftsmen such as Jamie Foxx, Don Johnosn, Orlando Bloom, and Burt Reynolds, in both TV and feature films.

The full program will be announced soon.

In the meantime, remember to get your FEST PRO and FEST TALENT accreditations here.

Previously announced speakers of our Industry Program are novelist Irvine Welsh, writer of Trainspotting and other masterworks; screenwriter Tony Grisoni, best known for his collaborations with Terry Gilliam; and filmmaker Isabel Coixet, who will also be the focus of an extensive retrospective of her oeuvre.

FEST will take place in Espinho, Portugal, between the 4th and 11th of October, to showcase a week-full of masterclasses, industry meetings, and other networking activities with some of the biggest creative minds in the film industry, plus 200+ short and feature films exhibitions.

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn, network, and pave your way in the film industry!
