Moscow, 1953. Under the strict state regime of the Soviet Union, vigilant dictator Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin suddenly collapses. After suffering a cerebral haemorrhage, his body is found only the next morning. The worst has happened: he is already dead. Panic sets in among the members of the Council of Ministers. Who can be counted on in an atmosphere of absolute distrust and fear generated by the regime? Between the power struggles, stifling bureaucracy and attempts to kill the competition, no one is safe. This satire stamped by British filmmaker Armando Iannucci’s special brand of humour strikes the ideal balance between raucous comedy and genuine terror.
