The Outlander

Director:Ani Antonova

Run time:5'

In the 16th Century, the elephant Süleyman makes a long journey from Ceylon to Portugal, then walks the whole way from Lisbon to Vienna through the Alps for five months. To be a living royal gift is not an easy job, where even death is not a peaceful end. Ani Antonova brings us a gentle and sad story of an animal who suffered to satisfy the whims and ambitions of men, using a delicate and elegant animation style that floats slowly but surely, much like the protagonist, towards a climatic ending. This is a film of immense beauty and emotion that will force you to redefine much of your preconceived beliefs.
