Best Swiss Newcomer at Locarno International Film Festival, Salmon Men is a satire that celebrates sexuality and plays with gender stereotypes. As it goes, salmon want to reproduce. While the salmon men are swimming upstream in a testosterone-driven race, the women at the source of the river indulge themselves in a fertility dance. But the roles aren’t set as clearly as the men expect. As soon as the children are born, women disappear, and men become lovely affectionate fathers.
