A girl turns twenty and a year later reflects on it, revisits past birthdays, and wonders about those to come. Birthdays, those big celebrations with friends and family, lots of cake, candles, and balloons, but also rituals of image production that we archive in the hopes of visiting again in the future. Party Tattoos is a short documentary about the re-encounter with these images, a confession about being alive, year after year, taking up space and feeling – or not – guilty for it.
