Tom of Finland
Opening Film

Touko Laaksonen, a decorated officer, returns home after a harrowing and heroic experience serving his country in World War II, but life in Finland during peacetime proves equally distressing. He finds refuge in his liberating art, specializing in homoerotic drawings free of inhibitions, becoming the emblem of a generation of men and fanning the flames of a gay revolution. The opening of the event with “Tom of Finland”, one of the most talked about films of the moment in Europe, marks the return of director Dome Karukoski, after having won the award for Best Feature Film in 2009 with “Home of the Dark Butterflies”.
