We are so honoured to announce that the two time Academy Award winner Asghar Farhadi is coming to FEST - Training Ground to host a masterclass.
Writing, producing and directing most of his films, Asghar Farhadi has been nominated for over one hundred awards in festivals all over the world and has won over sixty awards inside and outside Iran.
Definitely one of the foremost filmmakers in international cinema of the moment, who is known for how his dramas examine ethical problems and contradictions arising from social class, gender, and religion in modern Iran.
Farhadi won his first Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year in 2012, with “A Separation”, becoming the first Iranian filmmaker to ever win an Academy Award and also being nominated for Best Writing, Original Screenplay.
Five years later, in 2017, his film “The Salesman” earned Iran the Best Foreign Language Film of the Year award once more and earned Asghar the Best Screenwriter prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
His latest work, “Everybody Knows” (2018), shot in Spain and in Spanish with a cast led by Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz, premiered at this year’s edition of Cannes Film Festival as the opening screening and received great reviews.
