28.02.2018

Shortcutz is an urban and international short films movement with implementation in several cities around the world that consists of regular sessions of short films screenings that take place at informal venues located in urban circuits.

Like FEST, Shortcutz aims to promote and support young talents of the new world cinema, promote direct interaction between artists and the public and implement a constant and stimulating presence of cinema and art in the habits and cultural DNA of cities.

Always with free entry, each session consists on the exhibition of three short films, presented by members of their creative and/or production teams. Two of the shorts will be part of the competition and the other one will be a guest short. In the end of each month, or year, the Shortcutz jury from each city will analyze all the competing shorts and choose the winner.

From now on, the winning short of the monthly or annual Shortcutz competitions of Berlin, Caldas da Rainha, Covilhã, Faro, Figueira da Foz, Funchal, Lisbon, Ovar and Viseu will be awarded a FEST – Training Ground pass. Promoting the contact between new filmmakers, experts and enthusiasts and promoting the presence of Portuguese cinema nationally and worldwide.
