The 13th edition of FEST – New Directors, New Films Festival in Espinho is about to start. Until the 26th of June the city will have the chance to explore a vast program of new movies.
The 13th edition of FEST – New Directors, New Films Festival in Espinho is about to start. Until the 26th of June the city will have the chance to explore a vast program of new movies.
Eleven feature films (documentaries and fiction) will be in competition for the two Golden Lynx awards, in a selection that is a good representation of some of the most significant works of a new generation of directors. Short films will also be represented at FEST on the two competions for the National Grand Prix and the Silver Lynx that will gather some of the best productions of the last 12 months. We will also have time to visit Iran and Greece, in the Flavours of the World section, and know some of the new visions for the future of Europe in Be Kind Rewind. Closing the line-up, our FESTinha with its juvenil programme and FEST Surf, that will transform the Green Coast Bar in an outside cinema.
Present at the festival, to introduce their films and answer to the questions of the audience, will be: Dome Karukoski (Tom of Finland, Mon 19 June, 9 pm, Auditório Centro Multimeios); Laura Nasmyth (8:30, Thu 22 June, 11.15pm, Casino Espinho); Tereza Nvotová (Filthy, Wed 21 June, 9pm, Auditório Centro Multimeios); Alexander Bak Sagmo (Needle Boy, Wed 21 June, 11pm, Casino Espinho); Sofia Exarchou (Park, Sat 24 June, 9pm, Auditório Centro Multimeios) e Marc Crehuet (The One Eyed King, Sun 25 June, 6pm, Auditório Centro Multimeios).
