Mark Sanger is an Oscar winning film editor ("Gravity") with extensive experience in the industry. From a very young age, Sanger wanted to make films and his perseverance led him up the ladder of success and landed him incredible opportunities on great Hollywood productions.

 

He started as an assistant editor in the mid-90s, coming into the industry just as the change from analogue to digital happened.  Under this title Sanger worked on "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997), "The World is Not Enough" (1999), "The Mummy" (1999) and "Troy" (2004).

 

Sanger has an impressive list of collaborations with director Tim Burton as a visual effects editor, editing "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (2005), "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007) and "Alice in Wonderland" (2010).

 

Sanger also collaborated with Alfonso Cuarón as a visual effects editor on "Children of Men" (2006) and more recently in "Gravity" where he was the main editor (2013). This last project took him 3 years to finish, and won him an Oscar for Best Film Editing, as well as a BAFTA nomination.

 

Currently, Sanger is working on the film "The Jungle Book", directorial debut of actor Andy Serkis (a legend of motion-capture), starring Kate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, among many others.
