Director Baltasar Kormákur and screenwriter Larry Wilson are the most recent confirmations for the FEST 2019 industry program

The industry experts first time at FEST will add to the festival’s industry program, that is growing to be the biggest one to date.

Baltasar Kormákur, director and producer of the highly acclaimed "Everest" (2015) is a reference of filmmaking, not just in Europe but worldwide. Born in Iceland, he started his career in theatre, gradually moving to Film. His major works include "2 Guns" (2013), starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, was the winner of the Variety Piazza Grande Award in 2013 at Locarno, “101 Reykjavik” (2000), his first feature film as a director, and, most recently, “Adfirt” (2018). Baltasar will be presenting a Masterclass on Directing.

Larry Wilson is yet another name announced for this year's Training Ground. A renowned screenwriter in active duty for over 30 years, Wilson has a vast experience in writing and selling his screenplays. With his speciality being horror and fantasy themed scripts, “The Adams Family” (1991) writer brings to FEST participants a masterclass centered in “Horror and Fantasy Screenwriting”.  Sharing his knowledge and expertise in the field, the Masterclass will be designed to guide film professionals and students in developing a personal vision for their stories, while helping them discover their voice based on their deepest dreams and darkest fears, making their story distinctive. What’s unique about Larry’s experience is that he has worked successfully on “both sides of the desk”. Wilson can help you write your best screenplay and also help you understand how to sell it.  He can teach you how to market your screenplay and yourself.
