Now that FEST 2019 is getting into proper shape we can share with you some details of what to expect from the program of the 15th edition of the festival. As it is customary, the festival will take place from June 24th to July 1st in Espinho, Portugal.
Following 15 years of persistingly getting the world to know all about the freshest new film talents, the upcoming 15th edition will transcend our traditional timeline, taking a look back into the best of the past 15 years while maintaining a firm grip on the future.
Roughly 200 films (features and shorts) will be on display in 8 competitive and non-competitive sections which will reveal to you the new tendencies of cinema. But as usual, FEST is not just about film screening, and more than ever, our extensive industry program aims to further expand the opportunities available for participating filmmakers and industry professionals.
The industry program gathers every year in FEST some of the biggest creative minds in Film. It consists of several networking activities, conferences, masterclasses, workshops, case studies, debates and roundtables, that last year alone gathered roughly 800 film professionals from more than 35 different countries.
This year we’re adding to the mix the Director’s Hub that aims to serve as a home for film industry professionals to connect, exchange knowledge, introduce new projects and cultivate meaningful partnerships in a constructive way.
After one of it’s most memorable years ever, the Training Ground program will again offer film professionals a platform to develop their skills and share their experiences, with over 30 masterclasses, workshops and ateliers lectured by some of the film industry’s most celebrated professionals (see the list of previous speakers to get a sense of what TG is all about).
FEST - Pitching Forum, our international co-production and film financing event, dedicated to the facilitation, development and financing of film projects, will be open to all accredited industry professionals.
The Industry Meetings provide an unparalleled platform for one-on-one meetings between attending industry professionals: filmmakers, producers, financiers, distributors, representatives of film institutions, guest speakers, and more.
You can also gather around the dinner table with filmmakers, industry experts, partners and FEST team at the FEST - Networking Dinners, for a delicious meal of Portuguese food and wine, set in the ocean-front with an incredible sunset view.
