The film “9 Days – From My Window in Aleppo”, which was in FEST | New Directors New Films’ competition, won yesterday the 2016 European Short Film.
In August 2012 Issa Touma (a Syrian photographer) was far away from knowing that he was filming the beginning of the Syrian uprising in Aleppo, bringing a unique perspective about it.
For nine days, Issa dragged his camera, while seeing young men lugging sandbags into his street, and shot the first days of a war that is lasting for more than four years.
The film premiered in Portugal trough FEST | New Directors New Films in 2016 at the Sylver Linx Competition as a documentary short-film.
