Fernando Bovaira is a Spanish producer, responsible for "The Others" (2001) the psychological thriller starring Nicole Kidman.

A fan of movies since he was a child, Fernando Bovaira soon discovered that his passion was helping directors’ visions come to life.

Having studied in Valencia and in the United States, Bovaira returned to Spain at the end of the ’80s, when the audiovisual field was coming back to life with invigorating energy.

Aware of his creative limitations and distancing himself from that part of the movie-making business, Bovaira decides that his professional path would be dedicated to production. He saw this passion grow fonder after working at Canal Plus, acquiring and distributing films.

Some of his major works include "The Others" (2001), winner of the ‘Best Film’ Award at Goya Awards in 2002; "Àgora" (2009; and, most recently Alejandro Aménabar’s Spanish civil war movie, "Mientras Dure la Guerra" (2019), that is currently in post-production.

Fernando Bovaira was also nominated for a BAFTA for ‘Best Film not in the English Language’ in 2011 for Iñarritu’s film "Biutiful", with who he shared the nomination.
